A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the north carolina state education assistance authority to be used to support need‑based scholarships for students attending private institutions of higher education.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority the sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year and the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) for the 2018‑2019 fiscal year to be used to support need‑based scholarships for students attending private institutions of higher education.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2017.
