A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to appropriate funds for the children's nature discovery center at the north carolina zoo.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources the sum of four million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($4,250,000) for the 2007‑2008 fiscal year to construct the Children's Nature Discovery Center, a new outdoor facility at the North Carolina Zoological Park. The Children's Nature Discovery Center will provide natural woods, streams, meadows, and gardens as the setting for play experiences and educational programs to help children develop meaningful connections to nature and to encourage them to become more active.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2007.
