A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to construct a residential facility at the prairie ridge ecostation for wildlife and learning.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Friends of the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences, a nonprofit corporation, the sum of two million fifty thousand dollars ($2,050,000) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year for the construction of an environmental education residential facility at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation for Wildlife and Learning, which serves as a field station for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and provides students, teachers, and the public with a direct learning experience surrounded by ecosystems native to North Carolina.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
