AN ACT authorizing the Town of Angier and the town of lagrange to give annual notice to violators of the towns' weeded lot ordinance.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  The Town of Angier and the Town of LaGrange may notify a violator of the municipality's weeded lot ordinance that if the violator's property is found to be in violation of the ordinance again in the calendar year in which notice is given, the municipality shall, without further notice, take action to remedy the violation, and the expense of that action shall be charged to the violator. The notice may also provide that for each additional violation the municipality shall charge the violator the expense of the action and a surcharge of up to fifty percent (50%) over the expense to remedy the preceding violation. Notice of violation shall be served by registered or certified mail.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
