HOUSE BILL 856

 

AN ACT TO ALLOW THE RIEGELWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT FOR PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY PURPOSES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 130A-55 is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:

"(23)   To acquire by purchase, lease, gift, bequest, or devise, property to be used for purposes that counties and cities can exercise under:

a.         The Recreation Enabling Law, Article 18 of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes;

b.         G.S. 160A-488, entitled 'Museums and arts programs.';

c.         G.S. 160A-492, entitled 'Human relations, community action and manpower development programs.'; and

d.         G.S. 160A-497, entitled 'Senior citizens programs.'"

Sec. 2.  This act applies only to the Riegelwood Sanitary District in Columbus County.

Sec. 3.  This act is effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 1st day of July, 1993.
