SENATE BILL 315

 

AN ACT REGARDING INSPECTIONS OF FIRE-DAMAGED PROPERTY WITH AN INSPECTION WARRANT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 15-27.2(d)(1) is amended by deleting the word "It" and substituting the phrase "Except as provided in subsection (e), it".

Sec. 2.  G.S. 15-27.2(e) is amended by adding a new sentence between the first and second sentences to read:

"If the warrant, however, was procured pursuant to an investigation authorized by G.S. 69-1, the warrant may be executed at any hour, is valid for 48 hours after its issuance, and must be returned without unnecessary delay after its execution or after the expiration of the 48 hour period if it is not executed."

Sec. 3.  This act is effective upon ratification.
