HOUSE BILL 1272

 

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 776 OF THE 1947 SESSION LAWS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF MORRISVILLE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1. Chapter 776 of the 1947 Session Laws of North Carolina is hereby amended by rewriting Section 3 to read as follows:

"Sec. 3. That the officers of said corporation shall consist of a mayor and five commissioners, to be elected in accordance with the general laws pertaining to municipal elections."

Sec. 2. Chapter 776 of the Session Laws of 1947 is further amended by rewriting Section 9 to read as follows:

"Sec. 9. The mayor and commissioners shall be elected biennially under the procedures provided by general law for the conduct of municipal elections."

Sec. 3. This act shall become effective upon ratification.
