AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 47-18(a) TO PROVIDE THAT OPTIONS TO CONVEY BE RECORDED.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 47-18(a) is hereby rewritten as follows:

"(a)       No (1) conveyance of land, or (2) contract to convey, or (3) option to convey, or (4) lease of land for more than three years shall be valid to pass any property interest as against lien creditors or purchasers for a valuable consideration from the donor, bargainor or lessor but from the time of registration thereof in the county where the land lies, or if the land is located in more than one county, then in each county where any portion of the land lies to be effective as to the land in that county."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective October 1, 1975, and shall not affect pending litigation.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 9th day of June, 1975.
