SENATE BILL 503

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF OLD FORT, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN TO LEVY TAXES AND ISSUE BONDS AND NOTES AS PROVIDED BY THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 27 of Chapter 271, Private Laws of 1911, as amended by Chapter 213, Private Laws of 1927, is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

"Sec. 27. The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Old Fort is hereby authorized and empowered to levy taxes as provided in the General Statutes of North Carolina relating to the taxing authority of municipalities."

Sec. 2. Section 42 of Chapter 271, Private Laws of 1911, is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

"Sec. 42. The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Old Fort is hereby authorized and empowered to issue notes and bonds in accordance with the provisions of the General Statutes of North Carolina relating to municipalities."

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict or inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
