HOUSE BILL 1323

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 267, SESSION LAWS OF 1965, RELATING TO THE FEEDING OF PRISONERS IN EDGECOMBE COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 267, Session Laws of 1965, is hereby amended by rewriting Section 2 thereof to read as follows:

"Sec. 2. The Board of Commissioners of Edgecombe County is authorized and empowered from time to time to appropriate and expend for the feeding or board of prisoners in the common jail of said county such sums as it deems reasonably necessary to provide a sufficient and adequate quantity of good and wholesome food for said prisoners. The custody, care and supervision of the prisoners in the common jail of Edgecombe County shall be and remain under the supervision of the Sheriff of Edgecombe County."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
