AN ACT TO MAINTAIN CERTAIN TAX LIENS OF THE TOWN OF CARRBORO.

 

WHEREAS, the corporate boundaries between the Towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill have been redefined and redrawn by Chapters 410 and 411 of the 1967 Session Laws and some properties which were formerly wholly or partially within the corporate limits of the Town of Carrboro are now wholly within the corporate limits of the Town of Chapel Hill; and

WHEREAS, there are certain taxes assessed against certain of said properties prior to the year 1967 by the Town of Carrboro which remain unpaid: Now, therefore,

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. That the lien of the taxes levied by the Town of Carrboro prior to the year 1967 and on those real properties which were wholly or partially in the corporate limits of the Town of Carrboro and which by Chapter 411 of the 1967 Session Laws are now wholly within the Town of Chapel Hill shall remain subject to the lien of any taxes due the Town of Carrboro which were assessed against the said properties by the Town of Carrboro prior to the year 1967.

Sec. 2. The Town of Carrboro shall have the right to enforce its lien for any such unpaid taxes by any of the methods now provided by law for the collection of unpaid taxes within the corporate limits of the said town.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
