1967 SESSION

CHAPTER 687

HOUSE BILL 1118

AN ACT TO VALIDATE CERTAIN ACTS OF W. C. CRAVEN OF RANDOLPH COUNTY, PERFORMED IN HIS CAPACITY OF JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

WHEREAS, W. C. Craven, of Randolph County, performed marriages and other official acts as Justice of the Peace after having accepted another public office; and

WHEREAS, under the Constitution of North Carolina there is some question as to the validity of said acts: Now, therefore,

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Craven as a Justice of the Peace from the 25th day of March, 1961, until the 22nd day of May, 1967, are hereby declared to have the same force and effect his said official acts as a Justice of the Peace would have had if he had not accepted another public office while serving as a Justice of the Peace, provided, however, that this Act shall not apply to pending litigation.

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 2nd day of June, 1967.
