AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 48, SESSION LAWS OF 1963, RELATING TO THE ALLOCATION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM ABC STORES IN THE TOWN OF ROSEBORO.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 6 of Chapter 48, Session Laws of 1963, is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

"Sec. 6. The net profits derived from the operation of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Store in the Town of Roseboro shall be turned over to the town general fund to be disbursed as follows:

(a)       The governing body of the Town of Roseboro, in its discretion, may appropriate ten per cent (10%) of said net proceeds, or two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), whichever is less, to Roseboro-Salemburg High School to be used by said high school to supplement its athletic and band programs, the principal of the school to be notified each year by the town clerk upon adoption of the town's budget ordinance, the amount, if any, appropriated for said school's athletic and band programs.

(b)       Any or all of the remainder of said net proceeds which is not appropriated as set forth under (a) above may be appropriated by the governing body of the town for any town governmental purpose."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
