AN ACT TO AMEND G. S. 118-7 RELATING TO FIREMEN'S RELIEF FUND FOR THE TOWN OF WADESBORO SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE TRUSTEES OF SAID FUND MAY SPEND MONEYS ACCUMULATED IN EXCESS OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FOR THE BUILDING OF A MEETING HALL FOR THE VOLUNTEER FIREMEN OF WADESBORO AND FOR OTHER BENEFITS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. G. S. 118-7 is hereby amended by adding at the end of said Section a proviso reading as follows:

"Provided, that the Board of Trustees of the Wadesboro Firemen's Relief Fund, duly appointed under Section 118-6 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, may disburse any moneys in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) which accumulates in the Wadesboro Firemen's Relief Fund for the building of a meeting hall for the Wadesboro Volunteer Firemen and for other fringe benefits. Prior to the expenditures of any money which has accumulated in the Firemen's Relief Fund, and is in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), there must be the approval of a majority vote of the bona fide members of the Wadesboro Volunteer Fire Department and of the Town of Wadesboro's Board of Commissioners."

Sec. 2. This Act shall apply only to the Town of Wadesboro and to the Wadesboro Firemen's Relief Fund.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
