AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 473 OF THE 1963 SESSION LAWS, TO RE-DEFINE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF SPENCER MOUNTAIN, GASTON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 2 of Chapter 473 Session Laws of 1963, is rewritten to read as follows:

"Sec. 2. The boundaries and corporate limits of said Town of Spencer Mountain shall be as follows:

Beginning at a concrete monument in the East bank of Long Creek situate under bridge crossing said creek on Spencer Mountain-Dallas Road (N. C. No. 2203), and running thence from point of beginning, with the East bank of Long Creek in a northeasterly direction, 1290 feet to an old 1 1/2 pipe corner on East bank (traverse line North 33 degrees 20 minutes East, 1293.54 feet); thence North 80 degrees 29 minutes 30 seconds East, 4707.02 feet to marker and 24" poplar tree; thence South 2 degrees 42 minutes East, 1500 feet to a concrete monument; thence crossing Canal and South Fork River, South 62 degrees 53 minutes West, 520 feet to a concrete monument on South bank of South Fork River; thence along and with the South bank of South Fork River in a westerly direction 1670 feet to a monument (traverse line South 87 degrees 27 minutes West, 1644.45 feet); thence South 4 degrees 01 minute East, 1910.22 feet to a concrete monument, a common corner of May property and Pharr Yarns, Inc., situate East of Spencer Mountain-Lowell Road (N. C. No. 2201); thence with May property line, South 60 degrees 52 minutes West, 1600 feet to a concrete monument (formerly iron in stone pile); thence with line of tract conveyed to Southern Broadcasting Company, North 59 degrees 02 minutes West, 1420.09 feet to a pin in or near center of Ranlo Road, N. C. No. 2200 (existing concrete monument at 0 + 34.12 feet); thence along and with N. C. Road No. 2200, South 78 degrees 55 minutes West, 247.1 feet; thence South 73 degrees 51 minutes West, 231 feet; thence South 61 degrees 06 minutes West, 627 feet to pin; thence South 32 degrees 25 minutes West, 297 feet to pin; thence leaving N. C. Road No. 2200, North 60 degrees 02 minutes West, 377 feet to a concrete monument; thence North 29 degrees 07 minutes East, 1121.55 feet to a concrete monument in the division line of T. F. Butler (formerly), now Leslie T. West and Pharr Yarns, Inc.; thence North 30 degrees 57 minutes West, 528.15 feet to a concrete monument; thence North 25 degrees 34 minutes East, 387.7 feet to a monument; thence North 11 degrees 06 minutes East, 280 feet to monument at East bank of Long Creek; thence along and with easterly bank of Long Creek in northeasterly direction 397 feet (traverse line North 27 degrees 11 minutes East, 363.04 feet) to the point of beginning, and containing an area of 345.56 acres, more or less, as shown on survey by Findlay, Withers and McConnaughey, R. S., dated July, 1965, entitled "Town Limits of Spencer Mountain, Gaston County, North Carolina."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective from and after its ratification.
