AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 210 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1957 RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLK COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The second paragraph of Chapter 210 of the Session Laws of 1957 is hereby amended by rewriting said paragraph to read as follows:

"G. S. 115-129 is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following: 'provided that in Polk County the Chairman of the County Board of Education shall be paid no salary but shall be paid travel expenses of forty-five dollars ($45.00) per month and the other members of said Board shall be paid a similar travel expense of forty dollars ($40.00) per month in lieu of any salary."'

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification and shall also apply retroactively to April 1, 1967.
