AN ACT TO PREVENT THE TAKING OF DEER ON BLACK RIVER WITH THE AID OF BOATS IN PENDER COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to take or attempt to take or kill or attempt to kill any deer in or within one hundred yards of Black River, at any and every point where Black River is located in Pender County, with the aid of any boat or other floating device; provided this Act will not prohibit the transportation of hunters or their legally taken game up, down or across Black River.

Sec. 2. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned for not less than 30 days nor more than 60 days, or both fine and imprisonment.

Sec. 3. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission shall have jurisdiction to enforce the provisions of this Act.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
