HOUSE BILL 35

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND THE MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS G.S. 20-16(c) TO REMOVE VIOLATIONS OF THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS FROM THE OPERATOR'S LICENSE POINT SYSTEM.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 20-16(c), as same appears in Volume 1C, 1965 Replacement Volume of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by adding at the end of line eight thereof immediately following the word "laws" the following sentence: "Further, any points heretofore charged for violation of the motor vehicle inspection laws shall not be considered by the Department of Motor Vehicles as a basis for suspension or revocation of operator's or chauffeur's license:".

Sec. 2.  G.S. 20-16(c), as same appears in Volume 1C, 1965 Replacement Volume of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by adding immediately after line 41, and as line 42 thereof the following words "failure to display current inspection certificate."

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective after its ratification.
