AN ACT RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WILKES COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Wilkes County is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to fix the salary of the chairman of the board in an amount not to exceed seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month, and to pay the chairman a travel and expense allowance not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per month for necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of his official duties in Wilkes County. The board of county commissioners may, in its discretion and in addition to the above compensation, reimburse the chairman for necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of his official duties outside the county.

The board of county commissioners is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to fix the salary of its members in an amount not to exceed seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month, and to reimburse each member for the necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of official duties outside Wilkes County.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
