AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 50 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES IN ORDER THAT DIVORCE MAY BE OBTAINED AFTER A ONE YEAR SEPARATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 50-5(4), as the same appears in Volume 2A of the General Statutes, is amended by striking out the words "two successive years", in line 4, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "one year".

Sec. 2.  G.S. 50-6, as the same appears in Volume 2A of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by striking out the words "two years", in line 3, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "one year".

Sec. 3.  G.S. 50-8, as the same appears in the 1963 Cumulative Supplement to Volume 2A of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by striking out the words "two years", in line 11, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "one year".

Sec. 4.  G.S. 50-10, as the same appears in the 1963 Cumulative Supplement to Volume 2 A of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by striking out the words and figures "two (2) years", in line 9, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "a one year".

Sec. 5.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 6.  This Act shall be in full force and effect upon its ratification.
