HOUSE BILL 498

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 115A, SECTION 38 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 38 of Chapter 115A of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby amended by striking out, wherever they appear in said Section, the words "Charlotte Community College System" and by substituting in lieu thereof the words "Central Piedmont Community College".

Sec. 2. Section 38 of Chapter 115A of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby further amended by adding the following at the end thereof:

"(c)      When, in the opinion of the board of trustees of said institution, the use of any building, building site, or other real property owned or held by said board is unnecessary or undesirable for the purposes of said institution, the board of trustees may sell, exchange, or lease such property in the same manner as is provided by law for the sale, exchange, or lease of school property by county or city boards of education. The proceeds of any such sale or lease shall be used for capital outlay purposes."

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
