AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 160, SUBCHAPTER II, ARTICLE 22, OF THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA RELATING TO THE FILING FEES OF CANDIDATES FOR NOMINATION BY THE PRIMARY ELECTION IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. G. S. 160-335 is hereby amended by adding at the end of subsection (c) of said Section the following proviso: "Provided, that in the City of Fayetteville any person desiring to become a candidate for nomination in the primary for the office of mayor or councilman or any other elective office of the city shall at the time of filing a statement of such candidacy pay to the clerk, to be turned over to the Chairman of the County Board of Elections of Cumberland County, the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
