AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF HUNTERSVILLE SO AS TO PROHIBIT CONSTRUCTION OF ANY STRUCTURE OR STRUCTURES EXCEPT SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS IN THE TOWN OF HUNTERSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, FOR A TEMPORARY PERIOD OF TIME.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The construction of any structure or structures, except single-family dwellings, within the corporate limits of the Town of Huntersville is hereby prohibited for a period of time not to exceed ninety (90) days from the enactment of this legislation.

Sec. 2. It is the intention of this legislation to prohibit the construction of any structure or structures which may later violate the zoning laws, ordinances and regulations which the Town of Huntersville intends to enact. It is not intended that this legislation shall prohibit the renovation of existing structures nor the completion of new structures which have been substantially completed.

Sec. 3. This legislation shall remain in full force and effect for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of ratification, or until such times as a zoning ordinance has been enacted by the Town of Huntersville, whichever shall first occur.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification, and for such time as hereinabove set forth in Section 3 of this Act.
