AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF LEE COUNTY TO APPOINT A SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS FOR SAID COUNTY FOR A TERM OF FOUR YEARS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. At a meeting to be held on the first Monday in April, 1963, or as soon thereafter as practicable, and quadrennially thereafter during the month of April, the Board of Education of Lee County shall meet and elect a County Superintendent of Schools for Lee County, subject to the approval of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education, who shall take office July 1st, and shall serve for a period of four (4) years, or until his successor is elected and qualified. Except for the four-year term of office herein fixed by this Act, the procedure required by Section 115-353 of Volume 3A of the General Statutes shall be observed in naming and appointing said County Superintendent of Schools for Lee County.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification,
