AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF McDOWELL TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF THE CLERK OF THE SUPERIOR COURT, THE REGISTER OF DEEDS, THE JUDGE OF THE COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT, THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY OF THE COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT, ALL OF SAID COUNTY, WITHIN CERTAIN DEFINITE LIMITS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Clerk of the Superior Court of McDowell County shall receive as compensation for services rendered in such capacity an annual salary to be fixed by the board of commissioners for said county in an amount of not less than four thousand six hundred dollars ($4,600.00), nor more than five thousand eight hundred dollars ($5,800.00), payable monthly out of the general funds of said county.

Sec. 2. The Register of Deeds of McDowell County shall receive as compensation for services rendered in such capacity an annual salary to be fixed by the board of commissioners for said county in an amount of not less than three thousand four hundred dollars ($3,400.00), nor more than four thousand six hundred dollars ($4,600.00), payable monthly out of the general funds of said county.

Sec. 3. The Judge of the County Criminal Court shall receive as compensation for services rendered in such capacity an annual salary to be fixed by the board of commissioners for said county in an amount of not less than three thousand two hundred dollars ($3,200.00), nor more than four thousand six hundred dollars ($4,600.00), payable monthly out of the general funds of said county.

Sec. 4. The Prosecuting Attorney of the County Criminal Court of said county shall receive as compensation for services rendered in such capacity an annual salary to be fixed by the board of commissioners for said county in an amount of not less than two thousand six hundred dollars ($2,600.00), nor more than three thousand eight hundred dollars ($3,800.00), payable monthly out of the general funds of said county.

Sec. 5. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 6. This Act shall be effective upon its ratification.
