AN ACT TO CREATE THE COMMISSION ON THE DEDICATION OF THE STATE LEGISLATIVE BUILDING.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby created the Commission on the Dedication of the State Legislative Building which shall consist of two persons to be appointed by the President of the Senate, two persons to be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, two persons to be appointed by the Governor, two persons to be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, the members of the North Carolina Legislative Building Commission, the members of the Legislative Building Governing Commission, a representative of the architects and a representative of the builders of the State Legislative Building, to be selected by the Legislative Building Commission.

Sec. 2.  The commission shall request representatives of organized news media to form a news media advisory committee to work with the commission and to attend its meetings for the purpose of advising the Commission on the Dedication of the State Legislative Building and give it the benefit of the experience of the news media in publicizing and promoting dedication programs of general interest to the citizens of the State. It shall be the duty of the commission to make arrangements and plans for the dedication of the building and to fix the date and prescribe the ceremonies to be carried out at said dedication.

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
