HOUSE BILL 413

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO THE PROCEDURE FOR CHANGING THE NAME OF A PERSON UNDER SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1.  G.S. 101-4 is hereby amended by striking out the period at the end of the Section, inserting a colon, and adding the following words: "Provided, however, proof of good character shall not be required when the application is for the change of name of a child under sixteen (16) years of age."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 11th day of April, 1963.
