HOUSE BILL 1371

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO COURT COSTS IN THE MAYOR'S COURT OF THE TOWN OF LITTLETON IN WARREN AND HALIFAX COUNTIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. In every criminal action tried in the Mayor's Court of the Town of Littleton of which action the Mayor's Court has final jurisdiction, an additional sum of two dollars ($2.00) shall be taxed as part of the costs in every case in which the defendant or prosecuting witness or prosecutor is ordered to pay the costs, which said two dollars ($2.00), to be known as the police department fee, shall be paid into the general fund of the Town of Littleton, and shall be used to assist in defraying the expense of operating the police department of said town.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective thirty (30) days after its ratification.
