AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 14-134, RELATING TO TRESPASS ON LAND AFTER BEING FORBIDDEN, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING THE PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF SAID ACT A GENERAL MISDEMEANOR PUNISHABLE IN THE DISCRETION OF THE COURT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1.  Section 14-134 of the General Statutes is amended by striking out in lines three and four of said Section the following: "shall be fined not exceeding fifty dollars, or imprisoned not more than thirty days" and by inserting in lieu thereof the following: "shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined or imprisoned in the discretion of the court, or both such fine and imprisonment".

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
