AN ACT TO CREATE AN ADVISORY COUNCIL TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF O'BERRY SCHOOL AND CHERRY HOSPITAL.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby created the Advisory Council to the administration of O'Berry School and Cherry Hospital consisting of seven members. The Governor shall appoint the members of the Council for terms of two years each beginning July 1, 1961, and biennially thereafter, and they shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies on the Council shall be filled by the Governor for unexpired terms.

Sec. 2.  Members of the Council shall be paid from funds appropriated to O'Berry School and Cherry Hospital the same per diem, subsistence and travel allowances as is now or may hereafter be prescribed for State boards and commissions generally.

Sec. 3.  It shall be the duty of the Council to make periodic review and studies of the operation, maintenance and administration of O'Berry School and Cherry Hospital and make reports and recommendations from time to time to O'Berry School and Cherry Hospital.

Sec. 4.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
