AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 212, SESSION LAWS OF 1959, AUTHORIZING COUNTIES TO CALL ELECTIONS ON THE QUESTION OF LEVYING TAXES FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES SO AS TO PROVIDE SAID ACT SHALL BE APPLICABLE TO ALEXANDER COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 2 of Chapter 212, Session Laws of 1959, is hereby amended by inserting the word "Alexander" immediately after the colon and immediately before the word "Edgecombe" in the first line thereof.

Sec. 2. The intent and purpose of this Act is to provide that the provisions of Chapter 212, Session Laws of 1959 authorizing boards of county commissioners to call an election on the question of levying taxes for industrial development purposes, shall be applicable to Alexander County.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall become effective from and after its ratification.
