AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN TAXATION TO THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT TO AID IN THE PAYMENT OF THE EXPENSE OF THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR TO BE HELD IN CHARLOTTE AND MECKLENBURG COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Mecklenburg County and the City Council of the City of Charlotte are each authorized to appropriate the sum of twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500.00) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1961, and the sum of twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500.00) during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1962, to the North Carolina Department of Conservation and Development for the purpose of promoting the public interest and general welfare of the City of Charlotte, the County of Mecklenburg and the State of North Carolina as a whole. The appropriations authorized by this Section are hereby declared to be for a public purpose and shall be appropriated from funds of the county and city from sources other than taxation.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
