AN ACT RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF TOWN COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF TRYON IN POLK COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. At the election of officers to be held in the Town of Tryon in 1961, and biennially thereafter, the candidate for commissioner receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of four years and the two candidates receiving the next highest number of votes shall be elected for terms of two years and shall serve until their successors are elected and qualified. At the election of officers to be held in the Town of Tryon in 1963, and biennially thereafter, there shall be elected two commissioners, the candidate receiving the highest number of votes shall serve for a term of four years and until his successor is elected and qualified, and the candidate receiving the next highest number of votes shall serve for a term of two years and until his successor is elected and qualified.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
