AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR AND COUNCIL OF STATE TO EMPLOY SPECIAL PERSONNEL TO INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE VIOLATIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA LAW RELATING TO ATHLETIC CONTESTS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  The Governor and Council of State are hereby authorized to allot to the Department of Justice from Contingency and Emergency Funds sums not to exceed a total of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for the purpose of employing special personnel and meeting other necessary expenses in connection with the investigation and prosecution of persons violating North Carolina laws relating to athletic contests.

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be effective from and after the date of its ratification.
