AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 58‑53.1 AND 58‑53.3 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES SO AS TO PROVIDE THE SAME SHALL APPLY TO ALL CONTRACTS OF INSURANCE PROCURED IN FOREIGN AND ALIEN INSURANCE COMPANIES NOT AUTHORIZED TO TRANSACT BUSINESS IN THIS STATE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Section 58‑53.1(a) of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby amended by striking out the word "property" wherever the same appears in said Section, and inserting in lieu thereof in each instance the word "risk" or its plural whichever is appropriate; and by striking out in line 14 the words "or write" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "or print in not less than ten point regular type and in contrasting color".

Sec. 2.  Section 58‑53.3 of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby amended by striking out the word "property" wherever the same appears in said Section, and inserting in lieu thereof in each instance the word "risk" or its plural whichever is appropriate.

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective from and after its ratification.
