SENATE BILL 33

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 1‑86 SO AS TO REMOVE THE LIMITATION THAT ONLY THE PRESIDING JUDGE MAY ORDER A VENIRE FROM ANOTHER COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 1‑86 is hereby amended by inserting after the word "judge" in the second line the words, "regardless of whether he will preside at the term for which such venire is summoned,".

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
