AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN OF MURFREESBORO TO CONVEY ALL ITS RIGHTS, TITLE, INTEREST AND ESTATE IN CERTAIN LANDS AT PRIVATE SALE TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE MURFREESBORO CIVIC COUNCIL.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Town of Murfreesboro, Hertford County, in the discretion of its governing body is authorized and empowered to sell and convey to the Trustees of the Murfreesboro Civic Council, at private sale, all of its right, title, interest and estate upon such terms and conditions as the governing body of the Town of Murfreesboro may determine, a certain tract or parcel of land owned by said town, situated on the North side of Broad Street, East of Sycamore Street extended, subject, however, to the following terms and conditions:

(1)       If, at any time after the purchase of said property, the Trustees of the Murfreesboro Civic Council shall decide to sell the same, the property shall first be offered back to the Town of Murfreesboro at the sales price of eight hundred dollars ($800.00), before being offered to any other purchaser.

(2)       If within three years after the execution and delivery of the deed conveying title to the said property the construction of a teen-age club has not been substantially begun, with walls erected, on said property, the title to said lands shall revert to the Town of Murfreesboro upon payment by said town of the sales price of eight hundred dollars ($800.00).

(3)       If said purchase and sale is not completed by September 1, 1961, the Town of Murfreesboro shall have no authority to convey said property except upon compliance with the provisions of G. S. 160-59.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
