HOUSE BILL 1136

 

 

AN ACT TO PREVENT THE TAKING OF DEER ON THE CAPE FEAR RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES IN BLADEN COUNTY WITH THE AID OF BOATS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to take or kill, or attempt to take or kill, any deer on the Cape Fear River or any of its tributaries within the confines of Bladen County with the aid of any boat or other floating device.

Sec. 2. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or may be imprisoned for not less than thirty (30) days nor more than six (6) months.

Sec. 3. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission shall have jurisdiction to enforce the provisions of this Act.

Sec. 4. This Act shall not prohibit the transportation of hunters or their legally taken game up or down the Cape Fear River.

Sec. 5. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 6. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
